How To Find Joy

We are either moving towards joy or away from it.

Moment by moment, we are at a choice whether we’ll cultivate this joy or dig a hole of misery.

As I reflect back on my life, I realize how much time I spent magnifying pain, anger, shame, and worthlessness.

The more I did this, it seemed the heavier these qualities became within my mind and my heart.

I often wonder how many people are dealing with these “heavy weights” that suffocated me throughout the years?

There was something positive that came from this time, however, I realized that I was not a victim of these qualities.

Instead, I could easily shift my focus to joy, even if it was for just a brief moment.

The more that I searched for joy, the more joy I found.

Suddenly, these negative qualities were replaced with positive ones.

Now, I understand that we can ALWAYS choose joy.

You can only find that which you are willing to look for.
