Strengthen Your Relationships
Appreciate everyone.
That’s it. You could stop here and not read anything else in this post.
If you’d like to read a little more let’s unpack what appreciation means.
Appreciation
If you appreciate the people you are around each day, not making assumptions, not taking things too personal and being willing to move with compassion both within yourself and in the world, every relationship can be exceptional.
Yes, this includes relationships with negative people.
Think about it, negative people only affect you because you soak in their negativity and let it disturb your peace.
If you can find a place within that can appreciate even the most negative people, your positivity and peace cannot be taken.
Why Should We Appreciate People?
Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my grandparents on my mother’s side. In addition to my mom and my sisters, my grandparents meant so much to me.
They passed away nearly 15 years ago. I’d give anything to spend just 20 minutes with them.
- 20 minutes to let them know how much I love them.
- 20 minutes to let them know how much I appreciate them.
- 20 minutes to have a simple conversation and be in their presence.
While I’ll never have that time back, you and I do have the ability to appreciate, love and let people know that we care today.
It could be your friends, family, a co-worker or someone in your community.
Don’t wait until someone is gone to let them know how much you appreciate them.
The One Key To Strengthen Your Relationships
Appreciation
The Opportunity
I challenge you to call, write, text or visit someone who you haven’t talked with for a while and let them know you appreciate them.
Don’t just do it today, do this each day. It adds more to the lives of others and to yourself.
Appreciate.
Peace. Love. Happiness. Respect.
