How to Find Unshakeable Peace

Unshakeable Peace

I’ve often thought about what life would be like if we fully embraced the things that are 100% in our control.

I mean, imagine if each day we awoke with a positive attitude, knowing that we’re being greeted again with the Gift of Life?

What if our attitudes were centered upon this Gift of Life that we participate in? Realizing that through this Gift of Life we’ve been given all we’ll ever need, literally.

What if our outlook on life and on the world reflected that same positive attitude we’ve centered within ourselves?

Just imagine if everywhere we went, on all the different paths throughout our lives, we viewed the world through a peaceful, positive, compassionate and awakened outlook. What if we knew that where Life is, nothing is lacking?

What if you colored your world in this truth?

Moving through life with this unshakeable positive attitude and an outlook centered in compassion and peace, we have the opportunity to become fully aware of how we respond to each situation we encounter.

We have the opportunity to take responsibility for our lives.

I’ve come to believe that if we understand we control our attitudes, our outlooks, and our response to life’s issues, then our peace cannot be shaken.

The 3 Things We Control

Attitude

What are the things that make your day better?

Who are the people that add to and inspire your life?

What are the the things that can ruin your day?

What are the things that bring your attitude down?

By learning the answers to these questions above, you can begin to intentionally empower your attitude. It is obvious that our attitude is something that exists only within ourselves. However, our attitudes also empower or poison the people we communicate with each day.

As we begin to intentionally direct our attitudes into a positive, more optimistic viewpoint, we will not only inspire the lives of others but we will find a new light within that inspires ourselves.

Outlook

What are the things you focus on day after day?

Why do you focus on these things?

Who influences your view of the world?

Why do you believe what you believe?

I understand if some of these questions are a bit challenging. I have been going through them myself, and as I do, I’ve been discovering some really great insights.

One of those insights is to the final question, “Why do I believe what I believe?”

While reflecting on this question I realized I believe what I believe based upon the people in my past . People such as my parents, friends, teachers, college professors, television personalities, newsmen, authors, preachers, gurus, yogis and countless others.

I basically understood that I’ve been accumulating bricks of knowledge and stacking them up to make a structure that constitutes my current understanding. This led me to uncover this one very important thing that we must all remember:

“We must discover our own truth.” Or as the Buddha said, “Doubt everything, find your own light.” (Three Key Tweet)

I am by no means condemning any path of understanding, I am simply pointing out that if you don’t begin taking control of your outlook on your own life, then someone else’s outlook will take over and become your truth.

By embracing the power that comes from controlling our individual outlooks, we are no longer at the mercy of how another person’s viewpoint may be.  We see through our own lens, while also respecting the lenses through which others see the world.

Response

What are the situations you’ve been in that have made you the happiest?

What are the experiences you’ve had in your life where you’ve felt your worst?

Why did one make you feel one way and the other another way?

Are you aware of the responses that you make during the countless things you experience each day? Do you respond consciously or unconsciously?

This is probably one of the more difficult things to fully be aware of. So many different situations arise throughout life that test our patience, push us to our limits and take us to our breaking points. There are also things on the other end of the spectrum like relationships, love, family and our passions.

Underlying each of these experiences we respond to lies one common theme: Life.

You see, if we approach our days with a positive attitude and a peaceful outlook, centered in that which enables each day to be, then we will begin seeing that we control the ways we respond to each occurrence in our life.

In this awareness, we are no longer the victims of what happens to us, instead we recognize we are fully empowered by Life, and free.

Repeat this Daily

My attitude, outlook and response towards the day to day experiences in my life are 100% in my control. As I embrace this I find my true freedom.

Opportunity

To end this post I would like to present you with an opportunity.

For the entire day, honor these 3 Key things:

#1 – Move with a positive attitude for one full day. If your attitude slips, empower your attitude immediately.

#2 – See the world with eyes of compassion and peace. If you find this difficult you can start by focusing upon the infinite things we have to be grateful for.

#3 – Respond both positively and peacefully in all situations that happen to you today. If you find this difficult to begin with then start by recognizing and embracing the Life that enables all situations to occur. Consciously respond today.

*Try and make it a full 24 hours with these 3 Key Qualities. If your attitude, outlook, or responses slip up then immediately start again until you are able to make it a full 24 hours embracing these things that you control.*
