Borderless Planet
What would it be like to see this planet for the first time?
Just imagine descending down to earth, witnessing the vibrant blue colors from the oceans, the desert plains, the mountains and forests from above.
Eyes filled with wonder and a mind full of curiosity, your spaceship gets closer to the ground and you are eager to explore this new, foreign planet that looks so peaceful and majestic from above.
Unwilling to leave your ship, you hover close to the land and decide to take an adventure around the planet to see what it is filled with. You soar over mountains, lakes, rivers, meadows and eventually over cities and civilizations. This is when you began witnessing what is occurring on this incredible planet.
Over some cities are large buildings, people walking from place to place, and flags hung proudly from various structures. Traveling to another place, you see different flags that seem the same but with slightly different colors and designs.
Soon you no longer find yourself hovering above cities and houses but find yourself flying over shanties, toxic looking rivers and burning forests. Other places it looks like the cities have been destroyed, as if a bomb just went off. This is when you see the inhabitants walking on foot, fleeing from this destruction.
What you never saw though was a line separating the land, there were fences and some walls, but it seemed like all the people looked the same, some different shades but the similarities outweighed the differences.
Confused you ask yourself, “why are parts of this planet filled with destruction and others filled with what seems to be thriving, lavish societies. What separates the people who dwell upon this planet?”
What made them forget that they are all the same?
Borderless
I often think about how borders were created. After all, the only border that exists is the border that the mind creates.
USA and Mexico are only separated by the mind, as is Syria and Turkey, India and Pakistan, China and Nepal. What would it be like if we were willing to take a conscious step towards recognizing the oneness we share with each human being upon this planet?
I asked one of my friends this question and he said, that will never happen, people will never see that we are all one. He then finished, what would happen to our economy if the borders disappeared?
After this response, I reminded him that the economy is also a creation of our mind. In the same way we created the stock market, currency, and market fluctuations we could use our powerful consciousness to create a new system where peace and oneness were at the forefront.
Another person I shared this idea with said that we are all too different. This was when I reminded her we are nearly identical to one another, the only thing that separates us are the thoughts we believe to be true.
Others have said that this would never be possible. This was when I told them that all things are possible but it must be something we believe. After all, isn’t peace more powerful than bombs and if we recognized our unity would we be willing kill each other or put one another in poverty?
Just imagine if our #1 interest was the best interest of others and that was what we taught the youth. If this all happened, then how would our planet look when you saw it for the first time?
3 Keys to Recognize Unity Across The Globe
Some may think these ideas are far-fetched and they may be, however, I know we can begin in our individual lives to recognize unity across our globe. Here are a few keys to begin the process.
#1 – One Family – The first step towards unity for humanity is to recognize on a deep level as simple as this may sound that we are all human beings. We are all one until religion divides us, race separates us, class systems classify us, social security numbers identify us and gender has made us forget that all are made from a man and woman. Realizing the unity you share with the people you pass on the street and the person on the other side of the world is the first step towards creating a world that works for everyone.
#2 – One Planet – When was the last time you counted all the things you have in common with each person on this planet? We all need to drink water, breathe air, eat food grown from soil, have a connection with animals, seek shelter and dwellings, have compassion and love for at least one person and are all growing inwardly. In addition to this we all have a body that is composed of organs, tissues, fibers, molecules, cells, atoms and Energy. If you were able to see your oneness with all people, would it be possible for you to do something that could potentially hurt them?
#3 – Consciousness – The final thing that can help us create unity on our planet is to consciously recognize that you and I assist in the creation of our world. How many things do we believe because we were told to believe them? Things like borders, flags, cultural ideals, religious faith and the list goes on. Collectively we create our world, which means by thinking in new ways we can shift the planet. It comes down to you and I and how we use our powerful minds.
Drop Peace Not Bombs
One of my favorite thoughts from Albert Einstein is found in a letter he wrote to his daughter. Here is a portion of his expression on how Love is the answer.
“If we want our species to survive, if we are to find meaning in life, if we want to save the world and every sentient being that inhabits it, love is the one and only answer.
Perhaps we are not yet ready to make a bomb of love, a device powerful enough to entirely destroy the hate, selfishness and greed that devastate the planet.
However, each individual carries within them a small but powerful generator of love whose energy is waiting to be released.
When we learn to give and receive this universal energy, dear Lieserl, we will have affirmed that love conquers all, and is able to transcend everything and anything, because love is the quintessence of life.”
Be peace my friend. Be love and see the unity you share with All.
