The Den of Lions
We’ve all probably heard about the story of a man named Daniel, who was falsely accused and put into a den of hungry lions.
In this story, despite staring into the face of lions who were put there to consume him, he held fast to his faith, drew closer to “*Life”, and ultimately made it out of the den unharmed.
I bring reference to this story, not to highlight any one religion, but to highlight the wisdom buried in this tale.
From time to time, you and I often find ourselves trapped in a den of lions. These are not real lions however, these lions surrounding us, looking to consume us, are man made.
In fact, the lions filling the den many of us are trapped in from time to time are a creation from our own mind.
Each lion takes a different size and shape, feeding off our emotions, feelings and energy.
Some of these vicious creatures are lions of doubt. Others are lions of worry and insecurity, but the most dangerous lion of all, is the lion of fear.
Today, let’s free ourselves from the lions den.

Falling Into the Den
Just as nature shows us, the lions of our creation start out as harmless as baby kittens.
As time passes, these lions can grow, feeding off of our doubts, worries and fears. If we’re not aware of the food we’re feeding to the lions within, they can rapidly grow into something that can derail our lives, kill our hopes and shatter dreams.
These seemingly harmless kittens grow into vicious lions thriving off of our unrealistic expectations, negative people and environments that constantly test us, as well as false illusions of peace and security so many of us cling tightly too.
In short, these lions flourish off those things that lie outside of our control. Whether that’s specific events, situations, people, our past or our future.
As we continue to unconsciously feed these lion’s day in and day out, we slowly start to assemble a den within our own being that houses these lions.
If not checked, we soon find ourselves living in that den we’ve created within, a cage of our mind.
The den is the place within that harbors negative thoughts, destructive choices, pity from the past and fear of the future. Lions (negative emotions) that can consume us if we are not aware of them.
Freeing Ourselves From the Lion’s Den
Now this is where I would like to draw from the wisdom hidden in this story about this man named Daniel.
Whether you believe this story or not, we can all find freedom from our inner den and safety from the lions we’ve created.
How do we do that?
The same way the story tells us Daniel did it.
We free ourselves from the lions and the dark den by drawing closer to the inner *Essence within ourselves.
Ultimately finding our freedom by embracing the underlying *Essence which empowers it all.
The same Energy we use to create the den and feed the lions, can be used to remove the inner bars, heal the hungry lions and focus on our individual power and abilities.
As we embark on this inner healing we’ll find that we can simply walk past the lions of our creation, continuing on a road to freedom and abundance.
3 Key Ways To Escape the Lion’s Den
#1 – See Things For What They Are – Don’t magnify your problems and shrink your solutions. Put things in perspective and know the same energy which created the problem, can be used to solve the problem. Feed your solutions. Remind yourself often of the endless opportunities that lie before you and know that the areas where you put your attention and energy will grow and expand.
#2 – Replace Fear With Empowerment – Draw closer to the *Life within you. Remember, it is you who thinks your thoughts. It is you who chooses your choices and decides what actions to act upon. Begin to intentionally replace your thoughts with peace and empowerment. Fuel your choices with love and compassion. Dedicate your actions to respect and equal rights for all things. As we do, we immediately begin to transform our inner landscape which immediately shapes our outer reality.
#3 – Forward Movement – To avoid getting trapped and consumed in the den of your mind filled with hungry lions and intense darkness, allow a fresh flow of empowering thoughts to continuously fill your mind. Remind yourself often of who and what you are, *Life breathing, being, living, here and now. You are fully supported and uplifted in all that you commit yourself to. Understanding this, we can all see that we might as well do things in a positive and inspiring way versus remaining trapped in a den filled with the lions of our own making.
Gratitude
Be grateful knowing that we are never stuck in a place of fear.
Be thankful knowing that you have the ability to redirect the course of your individual life at any given moment.
Smile knowing that you can free yourself from inner cages and transform lions of fear into empowerment for tomorrow.
