Fourth of July: Inner Freedom

Inner Freedom

238 years ago, the United States of America was declared a free nation by a group of men who had a vision for the future. That vision was one of freedom, the pursuit of happiness and justice for all.

Throughout my youth, we were taught that this freedom is one of the greatest thing we have.

With it comes religious freedom, free speech, freedom of assembly and press as well as the right to own private property and bear arms.

Unfortunately, there is a hidden past to this country (and many countries), that left a deep scar.

Honoring Those Who Came Before Us

I would like to have a moment of silence for all the Native Americans and indigenous people whose lives were lost as their lands were stolen from beneath their feet. I would like to honor each slave who was captured like an animal in Africa (and other parts of the world) and brought to this county like cattle to live and die in the fields. I would like to honor all the women across the globe who have been treated less than human, raped and abused.

For all those who lost their lives, their land, their voice and their faith from the pursuit of freedom by another, you are not forgotten. Thank you.

We cannot run from the past. But we can run towards a greater future.

Before we jump into that, there’s something you have to know. That is:

As liberating as physical freedom may be, its power is lessened for those who are not inwardly free.

Outer Freedom, Inner Chains

Across our globe, many of us have the opportunity to live in an environment filled with outer freedoms. Freedoms that have been passed into law and adopted by the population.

But I’ve noticed, many of us who live in a places filled with these physical freedoms have yet to find freedom within our own being.

Many of us are still shackled in place by fear. Others are chained up by insecurity and doubt that has been with them since a child. Some are so attached to an outward image that they created that they’ve yet to begin the endless voyage within.

True, we may be free in the land that we reside, but how many of us are free on the inside?

Uncovering Inner Freedom

“Freedom (n.): To ask nothing. To expect nothing. To depend on nothing.” -Ayn Rand

Remember, our true gifts have been given to us before we took our first breath. More specifically, the ability to direct our life thought by thought, choice by choice, action by action.

Lean not to the outer reflections of the world to help you reclaim your inner freedom. Instead, remember that all good things flow first from within yourself before they start appearing in the life you live.

In lieu of Independence Day here in America, I would like to share 3 Keys that will help us uncover more inner freedom.

These 3 Keys of Inner Freedom are the prerequisite for producing a lasting change in the world we live that honors and respects all.

3 Keys of Inner Freedom

#1 – Free in Spirit – Have you ever thought about who and what you were before you were born? If not, I suggest that you do so and you will see that you’ve been free before your first breath was breathed.

Recognizing this Essence of Life that has been with us throughout time, we can better understand that nothing is needed to regain freedom from within.

Born Free.

#2 – Free in Mind – Stop and identify the 5 thoughts that frequent your mind most and prevent you from moving into greater areas of life, both within and without.

After you’ve identified these toxic thoughts that have created pitfalls within your consciousness, begin to fill them in with truthful thoughts. As you do this you will see the mental bars that held so many of your dreams hostage, slowly begin to disappear.

Free the Mind.

#3 – Free in Body – As we begin seeing the freedom we came with since birth while freeing our minds from toxic thoughts and replacing them with truthful insights, we have the opportunity to share this inner freedom with others. This is done by moving with inspiration of freedom through all of your actions, respecting all of life and most importantly, respecting yourself.

Everywhere you take your body today, move with this inner freedom.

The key to inner freedom is you, but it is something that you must do for yourself.

Over time you will start to see that those with inner freedom unlocks the doors of enlightenment for even the most enslaved.

Be Free.

Gratitude

I give thanks for the past that serves as a great reflection and bestows upon us endless knowledge and wisdom.

I give thanks for the freedoms of today, the ability to direct my being on all levels wherever my heart desires.

I give thanks for the future that continues to intertwine our lives into one.

And thank you for taking some time out of your day to visit Three Key Life. Whether you know it or not, you are helping me recognize more of my inner freedom.

Have an incredible day.
