Over the past few years, as I’ve continued to travel down the pathway of life and my own awakening many people I’ve met along this journey have approached me with a variety of questions.
Some of these questions have been centered around finding more peace, being more aware in day-to-day life and how to shift negative perspectives towards positive outlooks.
While I don’t have all the answers, I always do my best to provide the person asking the question with practical ways to shift their life in the way they desire.
There has been one question however that I’ve been asked more than any other.
That question is, “How do I meditate?”
I’ve been meditating for several years and while I don’t know the exact formula to help one suddenly embrace the power of meditation I’ve decided to compile a few powerful insights to help those seeking to add meditation to their daily life.
One of the best ways to begin a meditation practice is to shift your mind into a state of gratitude. Today I’d like to share 50 insights we can be grateful for and use as fodder to spark the abundant meditative process.

I can’t help noticing the shift here in America. You and I can move throughout each day of the year with a spirit of kindness, gratefulness, and compassion.
To assist both you and I in honoring our ability to be a light of hope and center our Spirit in peace, I’d like to share 50 insights you can use throughout your life to assist in meditating and becoming the change you wish to see in the world.
Meditation can help you not only improve the quality of your life but effortlessly improves life for all.
50 Insights To Transform Your Meditative Practice
I encourage you to focus on one, two or all of these insights to kindle the meditative practice in your life. As you do this, watch as your experience begins to shift and transform in new and unique ways.
1 – You Are Living – Be grateful for the inner Essence that enabled you to wake up today. The Essence that is beating your heart, breathing your breath and providing you with a new day to experience.
2 – The Abundant Universe – You and I are but a small piece of this infinite Universe. Open your mind to the endless Universe which we are all dwelling in and that has created you.
3 – The Incredible Planet Earth – Honor this sacred planet spinning beneath your feet, that supports your experience and has been in existence since the beginning of time to provide you with this opportunity of life.
4 – Our Ancestors – Open your awareness to the innumerable ancestors on whose shoulders you stand. Recognize all of these individuals were essential in the development of who you are today.
5 – Our Parents – Regardless of the relationship you may have with your parents be aware of the importance they serve in providing you with this experience of life.
6 – The Body Temple – Be grateful for this incredible body that is aligned with perfection and precision. For your body temple is a gift from the Most High (God, Light, Universe, Energy, Life).
7 – Beautiful Friends – Be thankful for all the beautiful friends you’ve had throughout your experience of life. The friends who have helped you recognize the glorious light shining within yourself.
8 – Dreams, Gifts, Goals and Inner Calling – Find joy as you acknowledge the unique dreams and gifts you have dwelling within you. Be grateful knowing you can achieve your goals and honor your inner calling.
9 – The Immaculate Spirit – At the depths of us all is a Spirit that is forever apart of us. This was with us before we took our first breath and will be with us after we take our last. Embracing this infinite Spirit within reminds us we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
10 – Water and Food – Be grateful for the hydrogen and oxygen that combines to produce water. Be grateful for all the food you are able to eat and is effortlessly transformed into energy for your body temple.
11 – Our Ability to Think One Thought Over Another – The great psychologist William James said, “The greatest asset to stress is our ability to think one thought over another.” Be grateful for your ability to choose the thoughts that you will allow in your sacred mind.

48 – Kind Words – Be thankful for the power of positive words. Speak kindly to others and most importantly, speak kindly to yourself.
49 – Divine, God, Jah, Light, Energy, Universe – Be grateful for that which has created it all.
50 – You – Be grateful for you, for you are valuable beyond measure.
The Next Step
You don’t have to chant, go visit a temple, church or synagogue to learn how to meditate.
Simply follow this process:
- Sit in a comfortable place and close your eyes
- Focus on your breathing (if your thoughts don’t stop don’t worry, simply return to your breath)
- After taking 10-20 conscious breaths, bring into mind one insights from above and let your attention focus upon it
- After 10-20 minutes of being aware of your breath and focusing on this insight, return to your breath, realizing you are living here and now
- Slowly open your eyes and look out into the room with eyes of gratitude
- Rise and move throughout your day from this stillness you’ve uncovered within yourself
